Review: How to quit your Crush

Estos libros son los que me recuerdan por qué me encanta el género juvenil y por qué me encanta leer.

How to quito your crush me ha hecho FELIZ. Seguramente uno de mis libros preferidos de este año 2020, si no mi preferido.
¿Qué hace que sea tan especial? Es una novela juvenil romántica REAL. A veces, en la novela juvenil los personajes son bi-dimensionales, o demasiado maduros, o no experimentan ningún tipo de crecimiento en la historia.

Si hay algo que hace de este libro un realmente especial son sus protagonistas, son adolescentes de verdad, creíbles. Se comportan como tales y su evolución en el libro se siente real, para nada precipitada.

Anthony y Mai se sienten atraídos el uno por el otro, no lo niegan, no intentan esconderlo, y sobre todo no intentan ocultárselo entre ellos.  Simplemente no quieren sentirse así. Así que elaboran un plan para superar su atracción antes de que llegue su futuro. Pero hay reglas: no se pueden tocar y no se lo pueden decir a nadie.

Me ha parecido una trama original. Los protagonistas ya han estado juntos antes. Esto solo hace que todo sea más interesante, ya que han explorado su atracción física, pero no vemos esto. Les acompañamos mientras se conocen, vemos como poco a poco se van preocupando el uno por el otro. Su relación es increíblemente CUTE.

Me encanta que la lucha de cada personaje es realista y puedes entender por qué sus miedos/dificultades les impiden estar juntos.

Resulta que es el segundo libro, yo no he leído el primero, pero no veo la hora de hacerlo y reencontrarme con los dos proteas aunque sea para explorar su pasado. Solo me queda agradecer a la autora, Amy, por darnos un libro tan incredible. Estos libros son los que me recuerdan por qué me encanta el género juvenil y por qué me encanta leer.

I am so HAPPY. This was probably one of my favorite books of 2020, if not my favorite.
What makes this book so special? It is a TRUE romantic YA novel. Some characters in YA are too flat, or too grown up, or without any development through the whole story.

Well if something is special about this book is his MCs, they are beliavable teens. They behave like teens and the development feels real, not rushed at all.

Anthony and Mai are attracted to each other, they don't deny it, they don't try to hide it from one another. they just don't want to feel that way. So they come with a plan to get over each other before their future plans. But there are rules: no touching and not telling anyone.

I found this plot original. The MCs have actually already been together. This makes it more interesting, because they are attracted physically, but we don't see that. We see how they get to know the other, how they care more and more everyday. Their relationship is incredibly CUTE.

I love how realistic their struggles are and I understood why their struggles/fears kept them from being together.

I didn't read the first book in the series, but now I can't wait to do so. Thank you Amy for giving us such an amazing book, books like this one are the reason I love YA and the reason I love to read.
